As long as you aren’t kissing lepers, I’d say yes, it is good for your health.

I think this theory is like a dog visiting a nursing home for the elderly.

A dogs touch changes channels for the elderly, to get their mind off their problems and refocus the love a dog is giving them.

Same applies to kissing someone. ever noticed when a person is crying, that a friendly kiss just seems to make their emotions change in mid-stream? i have done this many times with hugs with people distraught over the loss of a loved one and it works.

My graddaughter loves to give SMOOCHIES…...............

It is good, even better when you are kissing someone else.

It’s not so much KISSING that burns calories, but what it LEADS to…

gailcalled's avatar

But while kissing, it means that you are not headed for the snack bar.

MrGV's avatar

It’s good for your soul too.

Well, if the person you’re kissing doesn’t have any cold sores or illnesses that can be transferred through saliva (meningococcal, anyone?), and you’re emotionally comfortable with the kiss, there’s nothing unhealthy about it.

The important part about a lot of the benefits on that list though, is that you’re kissing someone you’re passionate about. Sure, going up to and trying to make out with random strangers will probably release adrenalin into your body too, but kissing just for the sake of kissing absolutely does not compare.

If it makes you happy it has to be good for you!

Random fact: I got a detention in second grade because I was kissing a window. I wanted to see if I could make the cartoon like kiss marks. Some kid caught me, and said HEY!!! You are licking the window. I felt too stupid to correct him.

Love_or_Like's avatar

Wow you got detention just for kissing a window???? And i would be to if i was you…. Who was the one that told on you the kid?

mowens's avatar

Well, it was the front row of the bus. The kid in the seat across from me was grossed out, and the bus driver over heard it. Heh…. try having that conversation with your parents.

mowens's avatar

Yeah, I’m weird. :)

After a few days, the Lord called to Adam and said, “It is time for you and Eve to begin the process of populating the earth so I want you to kiss her.”

Adam answered, “Yes Lord, but what is a kiss?” So the Lord gave a brief description to Adam who took Eve by the hand and took her to a nearby bush. A few minutes later, Adam emerged and said, “Thank you Lord, that Was enjoyable.”

And the Lord replied, “Yes Adam, I thought you might enjoy that and now I’d like you to caress Eve.” And Adam said, “What is a caress’? So the Lord again gave Adam a brief description and Adam went behind the bush with Eve.

Quite a few minutes later, Adam returned, smiling, and said, “Lord, that was even better than the kiss.” And the Lord said, “You’ve done well, Adam. And now I want you to make love to Eve.” And Adam asked, “What is ‘make love’ Lord?”’ So the Lord again gave Adam directions and Adam went again to Eve behind the bush, but this time he reappeared in two seconds.

And Adam said, “Lord, what is a headache?”

sure hope so, if not, we all would be in trouble! (well, I would…cannot speak for everyone else!)

Sure why not. Kissing leads to a closer relationship, sex, laughter and releases tension in more ways than one. So sure it will lead to overall good health. Now, I got to go mack on my daddy.
(old term, meaning, I have to go kiss my guy)
Which makes him my Mack Daddy. :D

loser's avatar

I think it’s great for my health!

mattbrowne's avatar

Yes, very much so, most of the time. Medicine knows about the positive effects of endorphines for example. The exception is when people are sick with certain contagious diseases. But then we shouldn’t hug or shake hands either.

JenniferStone's avatar

I don’t know because i don’t have any experience of kissing. But i think it is good for health.
