Who are some some celebs you're REALLY tired of reading and hearing about?

Asked by Austinlad (16323points) August 14th, 2010

I did a search and didn’t see any questions quite like this, but I’m know the topic has come up before in one way or another. Nevertheless, there are always new celebrities we’re fed up with, so who are some of yours? Mine is Sarah Palin of course, but especially the kids, Bristol and Levi—whose names even irritate me.

I have to admit that I don’t pay a lot of attention to the news. I don’t have TV, either, so I can’t get celebrity news by accident. In general, though, I don’t feel like hearing about them at all. Not because I’m an uncaring person but because their problems are usually the same as thousands of other people.

I guess the ones who annoy me the most are the “fake celebs,” the folks who have overstayed their welcome (such as the ones you mentioned). To the list I think one might safely add: any Kardashian, Lindsey Lohan, Brittany Spears, Paris Hilton, the Jonas Brothers, and at one time I would have added the oxymoron Billy Mays, but he has put me out of my misery.

The Kardashians (famous for being famous only), Kate Gosselin (at least John Gosselin seems to have faded away), Lindsay Lohan.

Oprah Winfrey. we all know she is successful. we all know she is loaded with money. we all know she is generous. we all know too much about Oprah Winfrey.

2nd Answer: Rush Linbaugh. he creates his own disasters and this is NOT a “need to know” for me.

Mel Gibson. Yes, he’s a hothead, a bigot, and needs rage management. But I’m tired of hearing about it.

I’m going to have to agree with @Kayak8
I could really care less about these people, they aren’t doing anything for me, and they most certainly are not entertaining me.
I don’t like people who have a “status” and think they can use it to their advantage to get out of trouble.

Apparently LiLo is somebody, because i see her name on tv, in (free) newspapers, on teletext, wherever.
I have no clue who or what she is, though.
Same goes for Bieber (?), Jonas brothers, and the likes.
Who are those people?
Nevermind answering it…

But no, i don’t get tired of it.
It is like hearing about economic crises to me, one ear in, other ear out.

I am so sick of the gossip magazines always bringing up Jennifer Aniston & Angelina Jolie. Seriously it’s been like 5 or more years since Brad left Jen. I wish they would get over it.

Others include the Kardashians and the Palins. I remember there was a magazine cover with Sarah and Bristol on it with the title of “We Chose Life” I remember that title angered me because what is so special about Bristol being a teenage mom or what is so special about Sarah having a son with Down Syndrome. There are plenty of other teen mothers and mothers who have children with disabilities and they aren’t featured on the cover of magazines.

Really? All of them! I don’t mean that to be a cop-out, it’s the truth. I especially do not like the idea of someone gaining even more fame for their poor behavior.

If you’re going to push me to choose, right now it’s Lindsay & Dina Lohan, anyone named Kardashian, anyone on an unreality TV show, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, anyone with the last name Palin & Mel Gibson.

I’m usually not interested in the private lives of celebrities and I also think it’s none of my business. Sometimes for some people I really admire e.g. Nobel Prize winners, it can be interesting to learn more about their lives and read their biographies. A good example is ‘The Audacity of Hope’. And certain aspects of public life do interest me, like what can Barack and Michelle Obama do to raise two daughters in a way that is close enough to normalcy. I think they are doing a pretty good job from what I heard.

But that’s where my interest ends. The rest I simply ignore.

Let’s open up my question to people other than just show biz celebs. How about people on the national and international scenes?

Carla Bruni. She’s a faaaabulous model who married a French midget. We get it. Stop trying to set her and Michelle Obama up as fashion rivals, because neither lady cares.

Charlie Sheen, Justin Beiber, Lindsey Lohan, and J Lo.

Oh, never mind the last one. There’s always room for J.Lo

My only investment in celebrity news/gossip is “The Soup,” (and to a lesser extent reading about occult/mind control/split personality/illuminati/freemason ties to celebrities) which I mostly always enjoy, so I’m not really invested in such a way that any redundancy of celebrity coverage would bother me.

Mel Gibson and Justin Bieber.

@mattbrowne You and I seem to have the identical views on this topic.

I travel frequently through the places through which explorers Meriwether Lewis and William Clark did between 1804 and 1806. I am sick to death of hearing about them! I have re-dubbed them “Lewis and effing Clark.”

I treat celebrity news just like I do commercials – mute and ignore.

I urge everyone who’s still on this thread to read this article
