Asked by MissPoovey (903points) October 25th, 2010

I am curious how everyone got here.

The Firefox add on StumbledUpon suggested it.

A friend of mine came over to my house and was stuck on my computer for like an hour or so fluthering. I was like Geez you’re addicted to this Fluther. The next day I created an account. Now I’m addicted.

The same way you did, only with a question about shoes.

A user on another site told me about it.

A friend of mine from a (deceased and recently reincarnated) polling site told me about it, and how most of the old community had at least pitched a tent here, if not moved in outright.

Someone on another site told me about it.

I heard a report that the cern LHC could possibly be broken because it was sabotaging its self from the future. so i went on google and searched “lhc sabotage from future” and fluther was one of the main results.

I found it under my bed when I was looking for my TV remote.

No, not really. I emigrated here when another similar site I was on, wis.dm, shut down, but I kind of get tired of saying that. Maybe I just shouldn’t answer these questions.

@poisonedantidote Now that is a wacky tech support issue. Much better than, “I forgot to plug it in.”

It was recommended to me by Vunessuh, after the changes at Cancerbag metastasized.

A friend of mine asked me to check out the responses she was given to a question and asked my opinion about them. I read her question and the answers she was given, then I looked around the rest of the site and ended up joining.

It found me. Nepotism (one of the more worthwhile “isms”).

Thanks to everyone for answering. I see most of us found this site by accident, aren’t we lucky?

I never get tired of answering this question.

From what I remember, I was referred to Fluther by a good friend of mine in middle school, who told me it was a great place to find answers. I started using it a couple of days later, and got pretty hooked. It wasn’t until several months later that I went back to my friend and thanked him for hooking me up. He looked back at me, puzzled, and said that he’d never heard of the site.

After several years of study, I have come to the conclusion that my friend had been sent by Dr. J to guide me to Fluther. What other explanation is there?

I saw a glowing light in the sky. I followed it. Gradually, the details got clearer. It was a sky jellyfish. It came down low and a ladder descended. I mounted the ladder, and except for one or two occasions when I threw myself over the edge, I’ve been here ever since.

In the last place I looked.

….because you don’t keep looking after you’ve found it…
