Do I have to use the USB cord that came with my ipod?

Asked by Spidermanrulezzz (189points) November 13th, 2010

I lost my iPod USB cord so can I just use one of my friend’s USB cords? We both have an iPod nano.

Yes. You can use any cord that has the correct adapter. You can even use third-party cords that aren’t made by Apple.

The only one you can’t do is use an iPod Touch cord to charge an iPad. You can use the iPad cord to charge an iPod Touch, however.

Yes, assuming it’s the exact same cord. Best thing to do is just get a new cord.
