How do polygraph tests know numbers?

Asked by troubleinharlem (7991points) March 10th, 2011

I’m bored, it’s raining, I ran out of books to read, my mom has the car and Maury is on.

So!

How do polygraph tests know numbers? There are questions like “Did you sleep with your ex-girlfriend blah blah blah blah”, and the answer would be “Yes, more than 20 times”. How could the polygraph test know numbers?

It doesn’t. It just picks up the changes in the human being tested.

They will keep asking with the numbers until they get a negative response. Then they know how many times it happened.

Yes the machine will graph the bodies reaction to questions and from that they can tell when the person is telling a lie.

When he says you are not the father that is from a DNA test of the father and child.

Polygraph test results are not admissible in court because they have not been validated scientifically. They measure indicators of stress. The notion that you can distinguish lies from truth by measuring a stress response—under circumstances of testing and interrogation—strains credulity.

There are no reliable “lie detectors.”

It has a small, psychic horse inside it that does the counting with its tiny hoof. A little elf, closely related to Tom Cruise, watches the horse and draws the line using a magic feather.

You get to disassemble one when you reach the level of Lord High Zuton (3rd Class). I keep a couple of spares in my invisible, crop circle making, space ship.
