Wonky computer or modem?

Asked by ShanEnri (4424points) March 16th, 2011

Every time (and I do mean every time) I get online “something” disconnects me from the internet. I run Vista 32 bit, Chrome browser and we have a cable modem. I don’t know if it’s one of those quirks of Vista or if my modem is messed up or what?! Everything is up to date. It’s been doing this now for about 5 months. It only “goes out” once and you have to restart the computer to get it back up. Please someone help!?

My cordless phone was on the same frequency as my WiFi. Every time I would get a phone call and used the kitchen phone my WiFi would disconnect. It took me a long time to relate the two. The fix was real easy. I got a new phone; it needed new batteries anyway.

Hmm, I suggest you update your computer to windows 7. I had this too once… And my fix for this was re-installing windows xp (back in the old days). And I would have my internet back. So I totally suggest you make a OS upgrade too windows 7, since windows vista is out-dated…
