Do good information sources on jewelry/jewelry design/making jewelry and such exist?

Asked by Tamoosia (2points) March 31st, 2011

Not beading and wire working! I design and make my own jewelry. I know couple blogs that post interesting info, quality stuff, but for most part it’s impossible to find anything much interesting. So i’ve just started my own blog, but am still trying to find others.

@Tamoosia : Welcome to Fluther!
Just FYI, promotion of your own business is kind of considered spam here. Join in just to ask and answer and discuss stuff and you’ll have a great time.

Why don’t you investigate trade schools that teach how to make jewelry, enamel work, cut or grade stones, etc? I assume there are such, and that there are also trade journals or trade conventions to go to. I would also assume that it’s a matter of who you know. I would assume that Jewelery making is an extremely competitive business, and that the privilege of being able to “rub shoulders” with like minded people becomes a matter of who you know.

You listed beading and wire working as a no. What materials or pieces are you specificaly interested in?
