Multi colored radishes

Plump, fresh turnips

Heirloom tomatoes in crazy shapes and colors

Fresh home made tamales and salsas

Flowers!

Strawberries!

You get the best fruit at the best prices of the year. A little cash, a little negotiating, and you get some prime eats and the farmer gets some “tax-free income” to suppliment himself. Best of all worlds there!

I am lucky- San Diego farmer’s markets are open year-round :>)

I am looking forward to something besides the greens, greens, greens of winter. I am sorrel-arugula-radiccio-chard-kale-collard-mizuna-cabbage-spinached out. Chiles, tomatoes, warm-weather produce…mmmm…..

We get farmers’ markets all year round here, but my favourite things are the local sausages and meat pies.

That’s what I said- Meat Pies (or cute gay guys walking their dogs, hee hee).

@Adirondackwannabe I hope you can get to the farmers market through all that snow. I love the flowers and the people.

@chyna I made it, it was friggin great and then I pigged out on veggies. I was literally drooling the entire time at the market.
