Which social movements and social movement organisations can you think of?

The Human Rights Campaign, which works for the equal rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people.

A couple that might be less well-known: Anti-Racist Action and Food Not Bombs are both organizations that I was involved with as a teen.

Microlending (like Kiva and Heiferproject.org), moveon.org, organic farming and locavorism, sustainaiblity movements

Amnesty International

Anti-war movements, anti-globalization movements, LGBT rights movement, food movements. Organizations like GreenPeace, ACT UP, Incite, Fierce, etc.
