What foods do you find it almost impossible to stop eating, once you start?

Asked by MagicalMystery (900points) April 9th, 2011

For me, I find it almost impossible to stop eating potato chips and dip. I don’t buy them in the house, but if I go visit someone and they have potato chips and onion dip, I have a hard time stopping.

What foods are your “crack?”

Chips. That’s why I don’t keep them around.

Ice cream.

Exactly what @marinelife said. Chips. I don’t buy them, because I can’t be trusted with them in my reach.

It starts with a D and ends with a T.

You’ll never guess it.

Doughnuts. If there is one, I eat one. If there are three, I eat three. I try to not know when there is a box of them around.

Salt and vinegar potato chips

Smokehouse almonds

Chips and salsa or chips and guacamole (at a restaurant)

Cheese if it happens to already be cut into little cubes, like at a party

French fries (but only at a restaurant where they come with the sandwich) otherwise I never order them and never fix them at home

At a potluck, I would have to say potato salad. It’s just so darned good!

See’s candy.
Guacamole
m&m’s

The wife’s pot roast. The only reason I can’t stop eating it is, it’s too bloody tough! Like chewing down on a rhino’s arse cheeks. Takes forever to get through that shit, oh & if I don’t clear my plate my botty is toast :¬)

can i answer “pussy” here? it has calories, right?

Black licorice. I’m eating some the whole bag now.:D

Even before reading your details, my immediate answer was Ruffles potato chips and onion dip, especially the onion dip that I make myself with a pint of sour cream and an envelope of Lipton’s beefy onion soup mix.

With just about anything else, the little red “stop” light goes on, usually sooner rather than later (cheesecake, chocolate kisses, ice cream, Doritos . . .), but chips and onion dip short out the wiring and I can just go on and on.

Mochi, flatbread with hummus, and mango-peach salsa with tortilla chips…

Olives
Shrimps
Chocolate eclairs

@DominicX I really don’t understand the appeal of hummus. I have had it several places, and it just seems bland to me.
@flutherother How did I forget shrimp? I can put any buffett into receivership and substantially lower the planets shrimp population, given the opportunity.

DominicX's avatar

@filmfann

Well, plain hummus is a little bland. My favorite is Trader Joe’s’ cilantro-jalapeño hummus and any kind that’s spicy with peppers in it.
