I can’t wait for the link! I get 20# of catalogs per day!

I am not promising that this works but it is worth a try. You have to list each Co. separately so the process is a pain, but as Peggylou says, the amt and tonnage of catalogs is stunning.

just mark em with “return to sender.”

alas if only it were that simple…

here’s the link- there is a nonprofit called 41pounds and they will get you off of hte junk mail lists—at least some of the lists.

you can also call the company directly and ask to be removed ,especially from the worst offenders like Victorias Secret… Victorias Secret sends out a MILLION catalogs a day—that is an actual number, not an exaggeration.

What about LLBean and Land’s End for Women, Men, Kids, Fishing, Camping, Winter Sports, Plus sizes, pets, ...just for starters.

The Direct Marketing/ers Association web site can get you off the master list. Just register your address.

Has anyone tried some of the websites listed above?

forward them to me, I love looking at stuff I’ll probably never buy! Skymall catalogs are the best, they have soo much stupid and yet usefull stuff, the kinda stuff that makes you think
” wtf? Who invents this $h!t? Well…..maybe I do need a portable set of stairs for my dogs to get on my bed, I mean it does fold up for easy storage under the bed….......nah” and you move on to the next crazy item….....

The fun way to get rid of bulkmail

It’s a pretty old story, but it still works wonders.

@baby: I have tried the one I listed; the problem is remembering the name of every co. that has mailed you stuff. And often, one wholesaler has catalogs under several different names..The shoe catalogs, for example, sell the same brands but there are many different names..I need to wait a few more weeks for results.

Move and never order anything again, whether over the phone by snail mail or on-line….

Sorry for slacking. Here’s the link I promised to opt out of catalogs:

Gather up all your unwanted catalogs, and send each one of them a change of address notice. Give the address of one of the other catalog companies as your new address!

gailcalled's avatar

Well, after using the catalogchoice site 2 months ago, I got a Land’s End for Men yesterday. It is a lose/lose situation, I think.

iriemuffin's avatar

I haven’t passed the 10 week mark so I am unsure if it works. According to scamp, it may not.
There was a new clip done on NBC once that laid out the procedure, but it got so convoluted that I quit taking notes.

scamp's avatar

That would be according to gail. She used it. I suggested a change of address.

It’s ok. I just wanted to make sure she got proper credit.
