Why does my iTunes keeps detecting my iPod in recovery mode?

Asked by Mr_Saturn512 (558points) May 7th, 2011

I once plugged in my iPod and iTunes said it was in recovery mode and couldn’t sync. So I was like, “Ok,” and backed up all my music and pressed restore. My iPod restarted. Then iTunes detected it——but it STILL said my iPod was in recovery mode. I’ve restored my iPod like 5 times and iTunes still can’t detect it. Now I have no music on my iPod. (It’s a nano by the way)

Try reinstalling itunes and then reconecting the ipod.

@Lightlyseared I’ve done that already. Still doesn’t work. :(

Are you using the most current version of iTunes? If so, and if you’ve restored the iPod, I can’t think what else would cause this problem. It may be time to call tech support.

Download an old firmware, restore to that holding shift when you click the restore button and browsing for the ipsw file You rename the zip that you download and then update it after that.
