How do you change at nightime?

Asked by mazingerz88 (28846points) May 14th, 2011

Do you change at all when it comes to your moods, behaviour, things to expect? Short of (jokingly) changing into a werewolf or a vampire do you transform into a different version of your daytime persona? Are you more relaxed and one with the elements or fearful and cautious locking yourself early indoors. What and who are you when it’s dark out there?

I’ve never been afraid of the dark, quite the opposite. I find it safe and very comforting. I love the feeling of being one of the only people awake – like having a world of my own. I can completely relax, know the phone won’t ring, play a game, read or surf the net and never be disturbed.
In short, I’m a much happier person in the nighttime.

I love to stay up late. I hate to go to sleep, just like a 10 year old who wants to stay up. My husband goes to bed early and I wish wish wish he could stay up late with me, hang out in bed, talk, watch tv. I also love to go out late and go dancing.

I want to add that I love the day time too, the blue skies the warm sunshine, I just am not an early morning person.

I’m more relaxed. I know the day is almost over and I’ll get to snuggle with my husband, then rest my head on my comfy pillow and pull my comforter over my shoulder. I love looking out the window from the bedroom on a clear night to look at the starry sky.

The night is my element, I always feel more alive, healthy and alert. It’s really hard for me now that I have a daytime schedule, with school and work. Because like, even if I was up for the last 14 hours, I start getting all hyped up when darkness falls, even though I should go to bed, I always retire much too late and feel like shit the next day haha. I could blame my alcoholism, but it was like that long before I was drinking.
Day depresses me with its blue skies and bright sun and people everywhere, always has. Unless it’s overcast, because then, I know that the night will be even darker than usual. I used to love power outages as a child.

Night was always a friend to me, and I always feel that I’m at my best then, it’s like I can do everything better at night. But night is so kind to me, because I’m kind to it, too.
No, I’m not saying I’m a vampire, but I’m not a people person, and when most are asleep, I’m free to be me, and night accommodates my personal needs haha.

I turn into a warewolf

Berserker's avatar

@XOIIO I’ll only believe that if you can literally tell me what raw cow tastes like, haha. :p

@Symbeline A bit greasy, kind of like the brown meat from in a chicken when the clear stuff from the skin os on it, and you can feel the fat sitting in the back of your throat and when you hit some cartildge and you isntantly feel like puking.

Werewolves eat all meat, frozen, dead, or cooked in the Sun, but they don’t vomit. They don’t even know what feeling like vomiting feels like. :)

Not that I’d say that if I tried biting into frozen ground meat or some shit lol.

@Symbeline I have flashbacks sometimes

Berserker's avatar

@XOIIO All this reminds me of a kids’ horror story I read when I was little, about some dude named Hergé. He ate all this frozen meat in secret. Hergé had a girlfriend, and her son saw through him, but nobody would believe the son, until Hergé‘s lycanthrope got the best of him, and the story ends with him just running off into the night as this huge ass wolf thing, never to be seen again lol.

I work and do things better at night [ to bad I don’t have many friends to enjoy nightlife (work , interaction etc ) or I would change my schedule completely ]

I’ve never noticed any difference. Good question though. :D

Make it…......Lets say A LOT better, can’t calculate in numbers…. !

Nigh time is when I relax and unwind… hot tub looking up at the starry night, glass of Prosecco and life is good.

I don’t change much at all at night, at least not in terms of action and thought. I love it as much as I love the daytime, just for different reasons. Daytime is when all the little details of the world show itself, in the light, and they’re fun and amusing, and the sky and flowers and everything is gorgeous. But at night, when it’s dark and in the moonlight, you see everything cleansed. There are no details, everything is in its most basic aesthetic form, and that’s gorgeous, too. The visual unknown that comes with night brings along a more pure form of beauty, at night, difference is impertinent more so.

I’m the queen of the night :)
I’ve always prefered night over day, even as a young kid. I find the dark comforting and relaxing.
Night time is when I’m in my element, so to speak. At daytime I’m always cautious about what I do and say, and of all the hullabaloo around me, but when night arrives I can let go and give my nerves a break. I turn into a very laidback, chilled person. Oh, and I sometimes turn into a vampire too, but that’s only on full moons. That’s when I go out hunting…

mazingerz88's avatar

@queenie Well, now that you mentioned it, I did a lot of hunting too especially in my younger days. Nothing like the cover of darkness to shadow as I prowl. As to what we hunt, that is totally another Fluther question.

MilkyWay's avatar

@mazingerz88 Indeed. (makes a solemn face)

I think I’m naturally nocturnal. I get all hyper.

I love the nighttime and forget the day. Literally, I have needed to be reminded what happened in the mornings all my life!
