What music makes you feel like Summer has officially arrived?

Asked by ANef_is_Enuf (26839points) May 30th, 2011

Is there anything that you specifically enjoy more in the warmer weather months?

For example, I love Sublime and Bob Marley.. but the first bright, hot, sunny day of the year… you can bet I will be blaring one or the other. It is my “summer” music.

What about you? Is there something that you always find yourself compelled to put on the radio when you’re driving around with the windows down and the sun shining?

This song, this song, and this song because I have summer memories tied to each of them.

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard Barenaked Ladies is another good summer band. I think for me because I saw them live at festivals several times, and of course that was in the summer.

1979 by Smashing Pumpkins. It’s like the anthem for being a teenager..

Ooh, I love all of these songs. I suddenly want to make a Fluther-inspired summer mix CD.

Any music by The Beach Boys.

Surfer Girl, Help Me Rhonda, I Get Around, Don’t Worry Baby…......and the rest of their beach songs.

How could you ever forget California Girls?

The Beach Boys music will be forever.

“Every Morning” and “Someday” by Sugar Ray. I have lots of summer memories attached to those songs.

“Let Your Love Flow” by The Bellamy Brothers

And, last but not least, The Beach Boys will always represent the sounds of summer.

@Fiddle_Playing_Creole_Bastard Holy crap, I hadn’t heard the Sugarcubes in forever! Good tunes!

Here’s one that makes me think of my adolescence. And this.
