Macbook camera help --please?

Asked by sleepdoc (4700points) September 2nd, 2011

I have a new to me macbook. In using it, I was able to get the camera to work using Ichat. I can’t seem to make it work for anything else. Is it just a webcam? With the ibook the camera would take still pics as well. Am I just so not with the apple thing that I don’t know what to do to make this work. Anyone out there who can help me?

Applications—> Photo Booth if you want to take stills or movies.

edit :: I should add that once you take a pic or video and it shows up on the bottom and you can drag and drop those to the desktop.

What version of OS X are you using? If you are using 10.7 I could upload it.

Shouldn’t I be able to find the camera like in iphoto?

iPhoto doesn’t see the camera, but iMovie does.

Hmm ok, so I can use it in imovie or I have to download the photo booth application then?
