Who is the unsuspected perpetrator in your neighborhood?

Asked by rebbel (35549points) October 30th, 2011

Whenever a crime has happened and we see it being covered in the news on tv, there are usually fellow residents of the perpetrator who state that they never would have thought that this guy could do something that heinous.
Because (in hindsight) he can be a she too, of course was such a quiet and nice man, albeit maybe a bit weird in his behaviour.
Thinking about the people in your neighborhood now, is there someone that you wouldn’t be surprised about if he/she got arrested, suspected of a crime?
No naming names of course, just a description of his/her behaviour/appearance.

Yes. The guy across the street that sits out in his truck for hours. Just sits there. No book, no computer, nothing.

It is one out of hundreds of thousands of people who can be described as as ”he can be a she too, of course was such a quiet and nice man, albeit maybe a bit weird in his behaviour.” that would be the person who commited the crime. It is no different from any other sterreotype.

@chyna I think you got yourself a ‘secret’ admirer :-)

Ick, he’s a creeper.

I can’t think of anyone… so I guess it must be me!

The call is coming from inside the house!!!

I just moved here 7 months ago so the only one I would suspect of dastardly doings is my wife.

Fred the cat. My neighbor lets the cat roam and is sure he would never do anything bad. But, I figure he’s the one responsible for a dead bird we find every now and then.

The Mormon guy who lives across the street. His son is the same age as my son, and now lives in Utah with a wife and family. There was no mother evident while the boy was growing up, but I don’t know their story. There is a woman living with him now.

@YARNLADY I agree – very suspicious indeed. Either them or the J.W.s who ring doorbells and hand out the Watchtower. I figure they are recording the names and addresses of empty homes and are immediately sending them to a website frequented by robbers.
I can see no other reason for them to be out there during the day ringing doorbells. Can you? ;-)

@worriedguy The one’s in our neighborhood are doing it for exercise, and they really need it

LuckyGuy's avatar

@YARNLADY See? You think they are doing it for exercise but we know better. They are the “unsuspected perpetrators”.

Why aren’t they out working at ‘real’ jobs? How do they fund the cleaning of all those white shirts and the printing of all those magazines? Where do they get their money?
Could it be they get a 10% cut from the proceeds of every home invasion? Just sayin’.

The only crimes around my house are the raccoons breaking and entering through cat doors and open barns, and the neighbors horses mashing my fence down to get to the greener grass. lol

Seriously though, I WAS shocked to discover a pedophile who was convicted of innappropriate sexual conduct with a teen girl in my area about 15 years ago now.

He is in his late 60’s.

I went searching for the road from the info. I got, but could never locate it.

What’s rather creepy is the map makes it appear that he resides on what is, 20 something acres of vacant woodland across the road from me.

Great, a pervert in a tent in the woods. haha

There’s a guy works at the fish & chip shop swears he’s Elvis!!
@rebbel Was this partly inspired by Vincent Tabak’s recent conviction? Just wondered.

SavoirFaire's avatar

@ucme That just means he’s your local CIA agent. He’s probably there to [REDACTED].

rebbel's avatar

@ucme Not specifically by Vincent T. (as he is called in the Netherlands), but similar cases, yes. (I actually forgot who triggered me to question it, but it was something I watched last night).

ucme's avatar

@SavoirFaire Nah, there is no such guy, no fish & chip shop either. It’s just an old song that’s all.
@rebbel Okay.

YARNLADY's avatar

@Coloma I hope the skunks that live around here won’t discover my dog’s door. I occasionally see them eating the cat food our neighbor puts out for the legion of feral cats she feeds.

I am now seeing all kinds of suspects across the street. Strangely dressed people 2 to 3 feet tall running through the neighbohhood with bags. I think they are burglers!
