So, do you use Google+?

Asked by nikipedia (28077points) January 12th, 2012

I was an early disliker of Google+ and disabled it after a few unpleasant experiences. The internet tells me it’s holding steady with about 40 million users.

Do you use it? Now that it’s been out for a while, and is available to everyone, what do you think of it? Is it going to stick?

I have had a Google+ account since the early summer and I don’t check it much. It’s so boring.

I signed up at the very beginning. I’ve visited my page a total of twice. I don’t know – I just don’t see the need right now for another Facebook. I use Facebook every day and use it to keep in touch with friends and family, and to play games. I don’t need another site to connect with people with whom I’m already connected.

Nope. All my friends are on facebook. If there’s another migration, I’ll move.

I was one of the early testers for Google+ and had an account at the very beginning, but it has never interested me enough to keep using it. I played around with it for a week and then lost interest completely.

I started using it when it first came out. I have plenty of ways to connect to people without it, so I don’t see the point. When most people had Myspace, so did I, well now most people have Facebook..probably more people than Google+.

I am not on it. I have seen no need.

No. Hell no! They require you to use your real name as username.

Occasionally. There’s not really anything special about it compared to Facebook.

I like it because I use Google Chrome. I use Google everything to be exact… except for Flickr, I like Yahoos Flickr. Email wise, documents wise, business wise I like Googe + for its hang outs/facetime with others when we are presenting projects, easy access to Google Docs, stuff of that nature.

I don’t use it, not enough of my friends are on it. plus I use fb all the time so why bother? maybe if it ever becomes more popular than fb I’ll consider using it regularly.

I tried it out for about a week and gave up.

Uploading photos only through Picasa for albums? Fail.

I like it a lot; find it cleaner and more adult than FB. However, no-one really uses it except one son and one friend so I stay on it mainly to connect with them.

I have one. I prefer it a lot to Facebook, but no one is over there. Or, more accurately, the people over there don’t post anything, because they already posted it on Facebook. So, there’s just no reason for me to ever go over there.

@ragingloli They relaxed the real names rule.

I have had an account since early on, but most of my people stayed on Facebook so that’s where I’m active. Even though FB pisses me off by constantly changing their layout, I still like it better than G+, anyway.

On a semi-related note, speaking of the real names rule, back in November Facebook made Salman Rushdie change his Facebook name.

I’ve tried it on suggestion of a friend but it’s not used as much by my friends or family. I’m thinking of deleting it because of some information mining thing. Facebook is still where most everyone I know meets up to check in with each other and it has so many privacy controls, they almost cancel out the annoyance of new page setups.
