Is the Castel Sant'Elmo in Naples the same as the Castel Nuovo?

Asked by twothecat (394points) February 28th, 2012

I see the same photographs with two different names. I tried to find out if these were two separate structures, but had a hard time getting a definitive answer. Does anyone know? Has anyone been to Naples and seen them both? If so, which Castle is the most prominent if looking up from the bay?

According to Wikipedia they are two different castles. They do look similar, although Sant’Elmo is in the shape of a star, and is on a hill of the same name behind an old monastery that is now a museum.
