How many scents do you have?

Asked by Ela (6503points) March 14th, 2012

How many different perfumes/colognes do you wear? Which are your favorites and least favorites?
Are there any scents that everyone seems to love but you dislike immensely?

I have only two scents I wear that I change with the seasons. A dark opium I purchase from a hippie shop and Estee Lauder’s original Beautiful. I used to wear many different kinds, but at some point decided on just these two.

As far as scents everyone seems to love and I dislike the top ones for me are the smell of roses, coconut and vanilla.

How about you?

I don’t use perfumes/colognes. I simply tolerate the scents that come on soaps and shampoos. I don’t like B.O. either so I take one shower a day wether I need it or not. HA!

Most of the time that I smell perfumes/colognes on others it is disturbing to me. But I usually tolerate them OK. It is the amount of perfumes/colognes applied that is the biggest factor for me. However a couple of perfumes are particularly revolting to me such as “Musk” and any amount drives me to think of nothing but get away ASAP. As that old “Little River Band” song goes, “.. I know it may sound selfish. But let me breathe the air”.

I enjoy the smell fresh food cooking, fresh air from the out of doors, oranges and natural pine trees.

Just one, BO, wear it most days, lightly.

Hawaiian Ginger, FTW.

I don’t wear them, but the ones I’ve tended to like on other people are generally ‘light’ fragrances. There’s a really cheap one called Skin that I loved enough to even wear for a while. It’s musky, but not overly so. It smells clean. The ones I can’t handle are usually flower scents.

I have quite a few. More than 10 I would say. I tend to get bored with wearing the same thing after a while and buy a new one.

I have a very popular fragrance, in fact one could call it common scents & much like that gag it stinks the place out.

One cologne that my wife bought me over five years ago. I give myself 1–2 sprays maybe once a month if I’m dressing up or because I feel bad I’m not using it.

I don’t actually like cologne.

<== no perfume, ever.

I have 1 or 2 perfumes that I’ve had for years (now that I write this I’m thinking I should probably throw them out) and use them sporadically.

The problem is, I don’t know if they work. When you first spray them, yeah, they smell nice but after a few minutes it’s like, can anyone even tell I smell good? I wish I could slip out of my body and smell myself in the 3rd person, you know.

I use a skin emolument oil that has some almond and lavender oil in it. For about ten minutes I smell like marzipan. I use, very sparingly, a hard milled
French lavender soap (only on the bits and bobs).

My roll model is Milo who smells deliciously of nothing.

I use different products that have varying scents– soaps, hair products, body products. I create some of the scents myself from essential oils. Most of the time, I don’t wear actual perfume.
I hate artificial scents (which boils down to anything your can buy in a regular store). They’re so abrasive and unoriginal. The newest perfume or cologne smells just like the last.

Neroli&Jasmin or White Musk Libertine from The Body Shop, because I love that they are against animal testing.

Definitely-Este Lauder Beautiful is my absolute favorite. I do love the smell of lilac, but I haven’t found anything out there that equals my expectations. Any suggestions?
I’m not a big fan of heavy, musky perfumes on me. They smell better on others.
I like very light florals with a bit of a citrus mix. Haven’t found many I adore yet, other than Beautiful-of course.
