Has anyone been to the new Harry Potter land at Universal, Florida?

I am going to Disney World in June with my 18-year-old granddaughter. We would really like to take one day to go to Universal Studios to see the Harry Potter thing. It is really expensive, will cost me about $400, and I have heard that it’s not all that. I heard scare stories about not being able to get near the shops without waiting in line for hours. Have any of you been there? Would you recommend it? Is it worth it?

I have been there, and I definitely don’t regret going! The candy/trick shop is crowded but there wasn’t really a line. But Ollivander’s, on the other hand, is a different story. There is a massive line to get in the front door, but there is somewhat of a “secret entrance” to get into the store that one of the employees told us about, and we were able to avoid the line.

The 4-D ride is fantastic and probably the best I have ever been on! The lines for the ride are long, but worth it. I didn’t get on the larger roller coaster in the park, but my dad and sister did and they loved it. I can say that the smaller roller coaster was quite fun, though meant for younger kids.

We did not eat at The Three Broomsticks (to my dismay) but the menu looked better than most of the park food, and I have heard good things about it. I highly recommend the frozen butterbeer, though!

There are also other fun things to see, like the toad choir and replicas of the flying car and the Hogwarts Express. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it!

Last summer, we went to Universal Studios and stopped by the Harry Potter exhibit. There were only a few rides even in that part of the park, and they were all bigger rides, so not everyone will like them. The shops were extremely crowded as well as overpriced. Universal Studios was pretty fun, but if you’re going only to see the Harry Potter exhibit, I wouldn’t really say that it’s worth it.

I haven’t been there, but it would be hard to get the crowds described if it wasn’t pretty cool.
This attraction has been so successful that they are incorporating it into the California park.
