What are some suggestions for making homemade stain removers?

Asked by IzzyAndHerBeans (359points) May 24th, 2012

As a fresh out of high school student, I’m looking to save money for college and not spend loads of money on things for my dorm and apartment for sophomore year. I’m looking to make a stain remover but I’m not sure where to start looking. Do any of you have any recipes or tricks for removing stains? My budget for a project like this is around $15.00.

A gallon of white vinegar will be useful for many stains but not chocolate, grease, tomato sauce, ink and grape juice. Can you afford both vinegar and bleach?

Club soda. And of course, whatever the stain may be. Blood, soak it in cold water. Fruit stain, selzer, and dab in club soda.

Aerosol hairspray removes ball point pen ink like magic.
