No – I’m fairly agile but I have very tight hamstrings.

AmWiser's avatar

Yep! I still can, but it’s a bit painful as I have arthritis in my back.

Coloma's avatar

Yes. Just tried it. My right knee wanted to bend, but I didn’t let it. haha

This question sounds like some crazy question my husband would come up with to trick me into sex.

Yes.

Pied_Pfeffer's avatar

Yes! And that’s even with my feet side-by-side. I can get my palms almost flat to the floor.

Berserker's avatar

Kind of hurts but I can do it. That always surprises me, seeing as I’m so not healthy nor physically active.

chyna's avatar

Yes! I was surprised that I can.
@bkcunningham Too much information. :-)

syz's avatar

Yes. I can palm the floor.

AshlynM's avatar

Yes, easily.

Coloma's avatar

No palming the floor for me. 4 inches short, painful. lol

Brian1946's avatar

Of course I can, you young whippersnapper!

Watch this- <crack> Ouch! ;-o

Mendelbaum, Mendelbaum!

Actually, I can barely do it.

augustlan's avatar

Not even close.

Barely! The back of my knees start to hurt. I found it gets easier if I do a lot of stretching first.

JLeslie's avatar

No. Never could. Not even when I was little girl.

You Betcha By Golly ;)

Also, I can palm the floor or I can put my hands at the back of my ankles & have my face go to my knees (looking behind myself. I do push ups by walking my hands down from that postions, during my workout, too.

Sunny2's avatar

I used to be able to, but I cut my fingernails short and now I miss by that much.

rooeytoo's avatar

Yep. But really I could use a yoga class to loosen up the creaky hinges.

Judi's avatar

When I have been doing my yoga, but I have been off for a month so not today. I go back tomorrow, give me a few weeks.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

Another floor palmer. Without stretching first.

ucme's avatar

Oh yeah, not recommended for convicts at shower time though :¬(

ccrow's avatar

Yes, but probably not when I first get up- that’s when I feel all stiff and creaky.

prasad's avatar

Yes, probably because of this exercise – Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation.

Paradox25's avatar

Yes, easily. I can do this even with my workboots on, and touch the floor under my toes without bending my knees. do those stretches so that I don’t cramp up. I’m a flexible guy.

Neizvestnaya's avatar

Yes I can and do it often.

Supacase's avatar

Yes and I can palm the floor. I can almost floor my palms back past my heels, but not quite. I could probably make it if I warmed up first.

I have no idea why I can do that – I’m about the least active person I know. (Though I am trying! I’m training for a 5K.)

augustlan's avatar

What about you, @jca? Update us, update lady!

jca's avatar

Yes I can.

I hyper-extend my knees so they almost go in the opposite direction, which PT therapists had told me a bad thing to do, but it’s what I do, how I stand, how I bend. When my shoes are off, I can just about palm the floor, but with big, bulky sneakers on I can just hit my toes.

SuperMouse's avatar

No and it has always really bummed me out! When I was heavy into martial arts I was able to but only after months and months of stretching every single day and as soon as I stopped doing that it went away!

YARNLADY's avatar

I can’t even bend over and touch my knees. I have a terrible time trying to cut my toe nails because I can’t get my foot close enough to my hand to do it, and when I do manage, I can’t squeeze the nail clippers hard enough to cut the nail.

I’m lucky my husband doesn’t mind helping me.

marinelife's avatar

Yes, but it’s a stretch!

dxs's avatar

Yes I can.

bkcunningham's avatar

It’s a stretch. lol That made me smile.

ETpro's avatar

At my advanced age? I’m pushing 70…

Yes! I can actually put the flats of my hands fully on the floor.

All these many decades life has been bending me over, so I’m pretty used to assuming the position by now.
