[NSFW] If you do this a lot, does it hurt? See inside.

Asked by Shippy (10015points) August 13th, 2012

OK, I can’t really ask anyone else its too embarrassing! So I would rather be embarrassed on Fluther. The question relates to both men and women. If you have a lot of sex, does it hurt after a while? Or is it just me? I thought for a while it could be an age thing, you know atrophy all that (I know!!), but I do recall always being this way. I do use lube, but just regular lubes, are there any special ones? I’d really appreciate any feedback.

@Shippy I so needed a question like this today. If you do a lot of anything it can hurt. I don’t know if you’re male or female, but yes, you can irritate the surfaces involved either way.

That all depends. Everyone is different. The size of “IT” may be a contributing factor in whether sex hurts after a while. It might depend on how long you do it as well, like consecutively.

No, because my penis is like He-Man’s sword, inde-fuckin-structible.

Sometimes if we have had sex every day for a lot of days (if we are on holiday for example, we will often have sex at least once but often twice a day for more than 7 days) it starts to feel a little bit sore down there. Usually a day or two off lets it all settle down.

@AshlynM and @Leanne1986 Thanks for your responses, at least I’m normal!!

@ucme ha-ha!.. not!

Yep, I am often sore after especially good sessions.

If you’re not using silicone toys, I highly suggest silicone lube. You just need a little bit and it lasts FOREVER.

@bookish1 Thanks great advice.

I reckon if it was a job, such as working in the online or video porn industries, you could build up a higher tolerance or callouses (lol). Or use industrial strength lube, say Mobil 1 or straight PTFE to keep things sliding smoothly down there. I once asked a model online if they ever got sore, but didn’t get a response.

This is why they invented lube. Also, like @Leanne1986 said, taking a break for a day or two helps. However, when you’re going at it for a few hours, it can get sore from the friction.

@Shippy Since you are a female, this is quite the norm. too much sex at once, a large guy, having sex the first time after not having sex in a while. These are all situations where I have been sore afterwards. And after having a lot of sex, it’s just consistent friction on the same area that isn’t used to that much sensation. Completely normal! I would be concerned if you didn’t feel that way lol.

@Shippy What hurts is when aging gets you to the point where it hurts because you can’t do it. :-)

I have Sjogren’s syndrome, so I (literally) feel your pain. Here and here are some things that may help with vaginal dryness.
