Performer Jerry Nelson passed away: care to share your favourite performance?

Asked by muppetish (14416points) August 25th, 2012

For those of you who may not recognize the name, Jerry Nelson is one of the many performers from Sesame Street, The Muppets, and Fraggle Rock. These shows have a special place in my heart, and Nelson’s characters (especially Robin and Gobo) touched me a great deal.

It is extremely difficult for me to choose a favourite, but one of my fondest is this scene from The Festival of the Bells in Fraggle Rock. The message resonates with the overarching themes of the works Jim created.

I hope that he is starting the music with Jim and Richard. Rest in Peace, Jerry.

@blueiiznh I had forgotten that he was the original Snuffleupagus. He performed such a wide array of characters.

Gobo is surely the biggest memory. I also adore Statler and Snuffie.
