How can I get flash to stop asking me to upgrade?

Asked by simone54 (7629points) January 1st, 2013

I am using Google Chrome with Mac OS 10.5.8. Flash refuses to work because I don’t have the newest version of it and I cannot get the newest version because my OS is out of date. I can use flash if I click the “Run This Time” button but I have to do it with every new page.

Is there a way I can make automatically run every time?

Chrome ships with its own version of Flash that is embedded in the Application. It doesn’t use the version other browsers use.

If you only use Chrome I would suggest entirely removing Flash to prevent the prompt.

And there is a setting in Chrome that makes it so you have to click on things to play.
Preferences -> Advanced -> Content Settings -> Plug-ins -> Run Automatically

I figured it out. I had to make an Apple Script to make it so Chrome doesn’t make me update it anymore.
