About ¼ mile three to four times a day with Frodo. Anywhere between 6 and 19 miles (once) a week aside from that with friends or my walking group. Various times of day but usually not really early in the morning.

It depends on where I live, the length of the closest trails and what my schedule is like.

I move around a lot I used to jog 15 min after my evening meal during the work week. About a mile or mile and a half.

I have also gone out and ran or walked during my breaks at work. If I don’t have appts right after work I can also hit the gym and sometimes when I am on the phone I hit the block.

Tuesdays there is a 7 o’clock hiking group and usually spend two hours out. The take longer trips on weekends but I usually am doing my own thing.

Evening time in the summer was perfect wind down time to walk for a half hour. Expend whatever energy I had and get my head and body relaxed.

I am not and will never be a morning exerciser unless it involves getting up way later then. 530.

Oh and as an alternative to jogging windsprints are fun! Also I intend to ice skate this year. Maybe do some cross country sking but we will see.

I used to run about 24 miles a week until I was diagnosed with arthritis in my knees. The running days are now over, unfortunately, but I substituted with walking about 10 miles a week – 2 miles per day, Monday through Friday. I routinely walk between 2 and 4 p.m. each day .

I have a 2 mile course marked out in my subdivision (using my car’s odometer) and that is what I follow each day.

More often than not, I avoid sidewalks as much as I can and walk only on asphalt. When I first received the news of arthritic knees from my orthopedist, he said that if you’re going to run or walk in urban terrain areas, try to stick to street surfaces because asphalt is more forgiving on the joints than running & walking on concrete, such as sidewalks.

I like to walk every afternoon, and I have a one mile course that I take. I keep to the side streets, because I don’t like to breathe the fumes of cars passing by.

The doctor says exercise a minimum of 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week. I walk 45 minutes a day, every day. Walking is better than running, I’m told. Anytime of day is good but I shoot for about 10 AM.

About 1.5 miles 4 times a week. 3 times indoors on a treadmill at the gym, and once on weekends outdoors on a jogging trail. Almost always in the late afternoon.

Until my knee surgery in late Sept. I was walking on the treadmill @3.2 for 45 minutes every other day. My arthritic knees were barely able to handle it, but it was doable (so I did it).

I combined that with floor stretches and strengthening exercises and some work with 5 lb. weights. Metabolically, I liked doing this in the early evening plus I could watch Jeopardy!

I bike approximately eight miles a day, fourish days a week, late enough for good light, and early enough that the heat isn’t killing me.

I’m not built for this climate.

I walk with my dog half an hour every day at dusk. We also hike 2–4 hours – between 3–6 miles – usually in the afternoon, 1–2 times per week.

I walk 2.5 to 3.5 miles a day early in the morning on weekdays and sometimes on Saturday and the distance is determined by the time I get up. The earlier I get up, the further I walk, but I need to be back by 6:30 am.

I’m making a comeback from 10 months of not jogging (a long ugly story). Now I’m jogging very easy twice a week (6 miles) in the morning at 0600. I warmup 5 miles and then jog one mile at about 80% effort. Within 6 months I hope to be back to the fitness level that I was in last December. Also on days that I don’t jog I cycle 1 hour, swim 20 minute and do 30 minutes of calisthenics.

My dog and I walk about 7 miles a day. Usually around three p.m., but it varies.
