A recent question spurred discussion about whether most homosexual men practice anal intercourse.
My question here is for gay men. Is sodomy regularly performed during gay sex?
I am asking this question be addressed by those who know, and not those without personal experience.

I have two pairs of really close gay male couple friends. None of them practice anal intercourse, according to them. I believe them.
Much as heterosexual practices vary from person-to-person, couple-to-couple, the same is true of homosexuals.
“Sodomy” is defined as anal or oral copulation with a member of the same or opposite sex or copulation with an animal, FYI.
I’m not a gay man, but Dan Savage is. One thing that he regularly reminds his readers of is that not all gay men practice anal sex. If you feel up to it, read through the archives and count how many times he mentions it.
I am guessing that there are men who have gay desires, so therefore consider themselves gay or bisexual, yet may have not yet acted upon those desires.
I have gay friends who never have anal sex and I believe them. However, I would guess most of them do have anal sex.
Considering most hetersexual men I know want to have anal sex and wanted to be poked there themselves, I am not even sure it is a gay question or a male question ~.
@kevbo That’s what I thought, but when I suggested that to a very religious friend of mine years ago he got pissed off that I even suggested oral sex was sodomy.
MY gay friends do. Called tops & bottoms. Lots of hetero’s do, too, no big deal. If it feels good do it.
Interesting that there is even a debate about it. I mean, it’s no big deal.
I think anal is a straight guy fetish for the most part
