Does anyone know how to dig for clams or other tidal shellfish?

Asked by rowenaz (2436points) July 14th, 2007

We have a chance to go to the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Long Island, and someone suggested that this would be fun. Any suggestions?

Make sure there's no red tide.

To find clams, look for little breathing holes in the ground. Then, dig away!

as the surf goes out you will see little holes in the sand. Scoop there!
