What is the theme and colors of your wedding?

Have them match your theme. My wedding invitiations were all white with palm treas embossed at the top, because I got married in Miami Beach and many of the people coming lived out of state. I didn’t have a theme, but it represented where I got married.

I have always felt that the best solution is to pay blank cards, seriously completely blank and actually write a few sentences somewhat personalized to each person. If you don’t have time for that I would then consider printing my own cards using those avery greeting card kits. This way you can still make it very personal, but don’t have to spend all the time it takes to hand crank them out.
