What's the best manual for fixing boat motors?

Asked by BillyBob123 (16points) April 16th, 2015

Haynes and Chiltons is obviously the go to for vehicles. What’s the go to for boat motors? Specifically a Mercury.

Get a shop manual printed by the engine manufacturer. Neither Haynes or Chiltons is the best for cars and trucks, either. They tend to give common knowledge stuff, but omit the really important details, in my experience. Get a good shop manual, like Mitchell Manuals.
