I suggest you find a local class. Doing yoga online can be dangerous if you’re not experienced. You need someone to guide you so you will understand proper alignment and online your instructor can’t see you and correct your alignment

Just look in your local yellow pages for hatha yoga classes. Many times they are offered at local community centers.

You do need in-person instruction. It will be worth it.

Great suggestions above. Keep looking for Hatha or Iyengar class and definitely avoid any flow classes at least until you have practiced a while would be my suggestion.

And when you do find a class…most people are nervous about not being able to bend and flex like the regulars. Forget that….leave your ego at the door and honor your body and your bodies inherent limitations. Let pain be your guide as to how far or deep into a stretch or pose you should go. Yoga is meant to be restorative for the body.

Yeah you are best to actually find an actual yoga class in your local gym or community centre.

I started with a Continuing Education class sponsored by the city I live in.

I would go to a class also. The instructor will be able to give you feedback if your position is incorrect.

I hope you like it, I think yoga is great for the body. I don’t like doing yoga for more than one reason, it never worked out for me. If you don’t like yoga, try a different class. If you join a gym with many different classes you will be able to try all of them in one place. I don’t know where you live, you might not have that opportunity where you are.
