What can you tell me about caring for a cyclamen plant indoors?

Asked by ANef_is_Enuf (26839points) August 7th, 2017

I received a cyclamen flower as a gift this week and I have never had one before. I was reading about their care and it says that they like cool temperatures (<70F) and will bloom in winter and go through a period of dormancy in warmer weather. However, it is the beginning of August and I have received a blooming plant. At this time of year, my home is typically 75–76F. From what I have read, this plant should technically be dormant right now. What do I do with it? Will it flower again in the wintertime?

I don’t know cyclamens, but I’m guessing not. I’m pretty sure they like it really humid though.

Just keep the soil wet.
Do not water it too much or expose it to direct sunshine in summer when the temperature is higher than 85F.
Inappropriate water or temperature will make it sick.
Say hellow to it every morning.
