Is my ex still in love?

Asked by dotdotcom (10points) November 29th, 2017

My ex and I have broke up after 7 months over 4 years ago. We stayed in touch and are now close friends. Although we facetime and call each other all the time, he’s made it clear he doesn’t want to meet up ever again. Even when he’s in town he doesn’t try to make plans. Why is that?

Sounds like he likes talking to you, but is very clear that he never wants to see you again. If this is giving you false hopes of getting back together then maybe you should cut him out of your life. His intentions are clear. I don’t think he still loves you.

Because the same issues that broke you up four years ago still exist. (whatever they are – we have no idea!)

So he’s being smart and protecting himself (and you) from the inevitable breakup that will follow if you got together again now.

Is he right? No way for us to know. You’re both older and wiser. But in his mind, nothing good will come of seeing you again. Live with it.

Nope, he is not still in love with you.

Sounds like you are still in love with the idea of being with him, though.

Is he still in love?
You mean with you, I presume.
Sure doesn’t seem that way.

Why is that?
Probably because he thinks it would be a waste of his time.

We can’t really know for sure what exactly is going on with him. Even with more information from you, if you don’t know, the best we can do is conjecture. You could try to talk to him about it.

Three principles must be adhered after break up that I told myself: one, never contact her again; two, never contact her again; three, never contact her again.
