Has anyone practiced Chi Kung (or Qi Kong)?

What’s it like? I’ve heard of powerful boosts of energy and emotional discharge.

I took ten lessons and didn’t like the way it made my lower back and knees feel; but I had a bad teacher who was too narcissistic.

My sister, with the same knee and back problems, loves her Tai Chi Chi Gong teacher. More emphasis on postures and movements than balls of energy and chakras.

It’s exactly like you described. My girlfriend was raised in Beijing and lives over here now. (Born in Jersey, go figure). She has me practice with her. It also makes you feel less sick if you are sick and if you do it properly.

I’m taking a 4-day course next month and I’ll let you know how it goes :-)

Yes, I do. Actually, I primarily practice tai chi and hands on healing.
I don’t know about “powerful” energy (it’s not something I particularly seek for) it is energy. It’s nice to be warm during cold winters, and well, once you are in tune with chi, it’s a different way of looking at the world. You begin to sense many things as energetic interactions. As a theatre director/performer, it’s become what I am interested in seeing and manipulating on stage.
