Why do you think Micheal Jackson had all that cosmetic surgery done?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46814points) August 30th, 2018

Yesterday was his birthday so I’ve been idly looking around, and I wonder why he had all that work done. He wasn’t ugly before. Not at all, but he sure turned into a horror in the end. It was really sad, IMO.

What is your opinion?

Never bothered to google if he made a statement about this or a person close to him did so.

Seemed society and the media didn’t make a big fuss about it or him. Maybe they did, I just missed it. Lol

Best guess is it was more of being simply unsatisfied with his beautiful black features rather than self-loathing for simply being black.

I heard his dad would make fun of Micheal’s nose before he had surgery on it because it was a little bit broad. The nose of a black guy. Joe was an abusive SOB. I think his nose was the first surgery he had.

Everyone has a self image, and rarely is it what actually shows in their mirror.
Self image reflects what we love, fear, remember, need. It reflects physical and emotional scars.
I think his self image kept stalking him, and the surgeries were not about what he wanted, but what he wanted to escape. He couldn’t find a way to get back what his deceptive, controlling, greedy parents took from him.

I think he had low self esteem due to his father treating him badly his whole childhood. I saw an interview where he said his dad was merciless to him about his acne. He may have just wanted to change his entire looks so he wouldn’t look at all like his dad.

I agree with you guys. And his dad was an asshole.

Plastic surgery can become obsessive/compulsive just like other behaviors. Or could it be that he valued the privacy of recovery time? There had to be so much pressure on that guy.

My guess is that he was trying to repair the first plastic surgery. To look natural. It went from bad to worse real quick. ~Maybe he liked the operations and was addicted to pain killers. Also he probably had to much money and no idea how to spend it so he had operations for fun.

I’ve learned by now that improbable demons torment more of us than we care to believe. Jackson just illustrates the horrific possibilities realized when victims have access to the resources to indulge their demons. His transformation physically was akin to self mutilation. And then there’s that business with the kids and the animals. I mean what’s the explanation for any of it? Whatever had hold of him it’s too creepy for me to speculate on.

I’m pretty sure he was sexually abused by his father, and made to feel worthless.

Although I think he was a brilliant musical star, I also think that he was a pedophile, his father made him into that. A lot of people, mostly males, end up becoming abusers themselves.

I’m pretty sure Michael Jackson was pretty effed up.

Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). He also suffered with eating disorders.

Here, I found the tape. Remember, eating disorders are about a feeling of control. They aren’t because the person wants to loose weight.

In the Celebrity Movie / Music industry world looks mean everything to keep himself in the media spotlight always. I also read that he wanted to change his looks to be different looking than his tyrannical father.
By going overboard he was successful in keeping in the spotlight always doing weird things
( hmm like Trump is doing now) to gain attention and more followers who obviously purchased
things that were marketed for that reason. Once one gets to the top it becomes a struggle to keep on top. Especially in the industry of Models,Musicians,Movies, and products.
He was marketing himself and had acquired so much that he had to garner more money to pay for his high lifestyle whims.
A mansion doesn’t pay for itself. Once on top, harder to keep on top.

The “kid thing” was so puzzling to me too. I think Neverland was his attempt to have the childhood that was denied to him by his father. He tried to recreate it, and share it with other kids. I don’t buy into the pedophilia 100%....I wonder if he was, in fact, impotent. I thought it was weird how his voice never deepened as he moved into his teenage years. I wondered if his father had had him castrated so his voice wouldn’t change. But then I read something that said he got sick at some point, and the medicine for it it, effect, castrated him. Everything about the poor man is a real mystery.

Kardamom's avatar

You can be impotent and still be a pedophile.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Yeah, I know. But I just don’t know about the rest. He certainly was incapable of having a relationship with a woman.

Kardamom's avatar

The fact that he unapologetically said that he allows kids (not his own) to sleep in bed with him, a grown man, is really twisted and inappropriate in my opinion. At best he had an unhealthy fixation on children, at worst, well the worst is almost unimaginable, but I’m pretty sure he did the unimaginable. I’m pretty sure his father also did the unimaginable to him.

He was completely fucked up, you can’t apply logic.
