Would you stock your fish tank with genetically altered "Glofish"?

I would. I think it’s cool.

Yes, and I’d replace the water with clear silicone.

Lots of aquarium fish get stressed out by changes in light. Tanks with black lights, or lights that stay on a lot have higher mortality rates.

They have these fish at the pet store that I use. The fish die at much higher rates than the others. Whether it is the lighting, or something to do with their alteration.

I like my fish happy, and prefer them to live long.

I have an aquarium and have chosen not to get glofish. They are definitely cool looking, but when humans mess around in animal genomes we tend to make them prettier at the expense of health. Even just by selectively breeding guppies for longer and flashier tails, we have reduced their natural lifespans. I don’t think it’s humane.
