Now that Democrats have the House, what should all these politicians do to pass bipartisan legislation?

And actually do their jobs.

Actually the Trump is spoiling for a fight. Here’s his tweet”
“If the Democrats think they are going to waste Taxpayer Money investigating us at the House level, then we will likewise be forced to consider investigating them for all of the leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level. Two can play that game!”

What a douche.

I don’t think there any thing such as “bipartisan” any more. I think the most we can hope for is gridlock.

The only thing there will be bi-partisan consensus on, are their own financial benefits

Congress is currently like a team that always loses, and cynically begins to imagine that they never will. So they train badly, play badly, and guarantee failure. They forget how to win, so they don’t try.

They should find an issue that all constituents, regardless of party, think is important and go to work on it and not quit until they come up with solution that both sides can vote on. Infrastructure, health care, immigration, raising the retirement age to save SS, – whatever it is that there is the best chance of success.

Otherwise, they will simply assume that nothing can happen until they control every branch. Which won’t happen, but even if it does, it won’t be permanent.

Play Twister on a big arsed mat, whichever foot/hand sits on Red or Blue gets to call the shots.

The democrats should see if they lay off, if some compromise can finally get done, and if Trump will cool it. Give it a month! Make some back door agreenent to cool down with the rhetoric. Then, if there is no cooperation, then go after Trump.

I think we have about a year before we need to pile on before we all have the next election to worry about if we can actually get a decent year now if a semi-functioning government. That’s IF both sides will play along. Like I said, at least let’s guve it a month.

I think congress should look at healthcare first, but it can’t be putting everything out into the free market—that’s a non-starter.

If Democrats go after Trump I do think it could backfire. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. We need to be careful not to inadvertently help his re-election.

Republican, Democrats and Independent voters should probably form a coalition for the sole purpose of monitoring, grading and maybe even to prod and poke these representatives to legislate and move the country forward.

If I won that 1.6 billion lottery I just might fund something like that. Lol

( And keep getting great ideas from jellies here. Might even call it the Fluther Coalition. )

I would love it if Congress suddenly woke up tomorrow and said “HEY! We should work for the people!” I don’t hold my breath though. They seem incapable of even looking at the other party without retching. All it would take is simple conversation and coherent thoughts. But I believe that to be beyond the House or Senate.
