Receive email from one account in another.

Asked by Phillyzero (129points) August 22nd, 2008

I’m fairly sure I’ve seen this feature in Gmail (which is what I’m looking for specifically) where you were able to get incoming emails from your old account into your new one.

So is there a way to do this? To route email from 2 e-mail accounts into 1?

Many email servers will automatically forward emails to another email address. Look at your old email settings for an option to forward emails, then set it to send them to your Gmail address.

your email settings should have a “forward to another email address” option. all my emails get forwarded to my gmail like that. the settings you need to change are the settings of the email address that you want stuff forwarded from. You don’t have to change anything in the settings of the email that stuff will be forwarded to.

I know exactly what you’re trying to do and I do the exact same thing, I have multiple email accounts but I can’t be bothered checking multiple inboxes so I just add the POP3 accounts. Forwarding is a good feature but I prefer to just add them to download the emails directly off the server. You can find that tab here and the support page here. Hope this helps!
