Have you ever cast someone's face in plaster?

Asked by lucillelucillelucille (34325points) March 2nd, 2020

Or had your own done?
How’d it come out?
I did my husband’s face years ago and it came out alright but it could be better.
Maybe use a different resist to get more detail.
What’s better than petroleum jelly though? PAM?? XD
What did they use for death masks like Lincoln’s?

She looks scary enough in one of those face packs she puts on before bathing.
Watching her peel it off after is like the footage from Chernobyl!

@ucme -You definitely need to do it!

@lucillelucillelucille So sell it to me, why would I?

@ucme -Simple curiosity!
An heirloom to pass on to future generations when they ask,“Mum, what did the legendary ucme look like?”
A custom pinata for your own birthday!
A delightfully interesting hood ornament!
When your friends and family are too busy to go to the pub, take yourself!
shall I go on?

We did something like that when I was in high school, in art class. I have no idea what or how we did it, just that we did.

Of course in college we drank a lot and got plastered, but that’s different.

My brother once, but the plaster was already hard. I had to push him real hard.
