when I was little I loved the movie “the hobbit.” in high school a friend of mine and I watched it (10+ years later) and it turns out it was animated!! I didn’t remember that at all.

the movie was probably still fine, but I was so confused at that point that I could no longer accurately gauge the quality.

A couple of years ago a friend and I attempted to watch ET. We were extremely excited, having both loved it when we were little. However, 10 minutes in we could not bear the boredom and switched to Spongebob instead….

the cat from out of space, the sinbad movies, the killer tomatoes, the giant ants and rabbits movies, I can’t think of anymore.

Fright Night scared the hell out of me in fourth grade. I kept my neck below the blanket line for months after watching it. I saw it again years later and laughed most of the way through it.

Greedo shooting first. I mean really. We went opening day for that in the middle of the week.

The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad. The film captured my imagination when I saw it, first run, in 1958. Ray Harryhausen’s animation seemed dated when I caught it on TV, many years later, post-Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

I can’t remember what is called but when i was a kid i saw this movie about this kid who got sucked down a drain and woke up in this magical world with karate fighting kangaroos. I absolutely loved that movie. Then one day it came on HBO and i was like “what the heck was i smoking”. It seriously sucked.

I saw “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” back in about 1991 with my brother. We both thought it was really funny. Last year I found a copy at a thrift store and picked it up for a couple of bucks. It was horrible. I suspect the thrift store is now selling it to some other unsuspecting slob . . .
