How would you feel as a doctor if you didn't get proper protection suits during Covid19?

Asked by samind (4points) May 4th, 2020

There are many reports around the world that doctors don’t get enough protection kits during pandemic.

And this one is horrific: https://bdkhealth.com/3-doctors-in-russia-fall-out-of-windows-in-2-weeks-complaining-about-lack-of-protection-2-dead/

How do you feel when you don’t get protection but still need to work

I’m not a doctor, but I’ve read articles saying that there are no “emergencies” during a pandemic. I think it was more for Ebola and similar diseases, but the rationale was taking extreme risk with your own life is not the right thing to do, because if the doctor dies there is no help for anyone. Ebola is something like 50% deadly, or some crazy high amount. Even still, I’ve heard stories of doctors working in Africa during Ebola outbreaks with less than satisfactory PPE.

I would imagine they feel sad and angry.

I would wonder how any manufacturer could possibly make available so many protective suits with almost no preliminary knowledge that they might be needed.

^^We knew since January.

@JLeslie Still not enough time.

@kritiper Better than doing NOTHING. February was completely wasted. We should have all been in fabric masks, and producing and buying PPE, and buying test kits to test people negative for flu.
