I sleep whenever the guards turn off the lights.

And you should only play video games at work, on office time.

What are our future plans? Do hope to work a 9 to 5 job? Are you planning on being a bar tender or pole dancer? Are you interested in finance and business? A writer?
Think about where you want be and the hours that kind of person works. Now work backwards from there to decide what time you need to get up so you are showered, fed, dresses and traveled. That tells you the wake up time.
Now how old are you? How much sleep do you need to feel great? Add one hour to that number and use that to determine bed time. Simple.

Here’s my example. I worked a nominally 8 to 5 job. I woke up at 6 so I could be ready and at the office by 7:15–7:30. I did that all my life, elementary school, high school, college, work, so it is easy for me now.
I like to sleep. I like 8 hours so I plan on bed time about 9:00. Simple.

Now the question about video games is different.
Every second you spend playing a video game is time you are not doing something else. That time will never be recovered. It is up to you to decide.

Best advice is to not have screen time just before you go to bed. article.

It keeps you awake, and is not healthy, long term. The time isn’t the issue, it’s the quality of sleep.

I am in bed relaxing by 10pm, up around 6am. Lights down and company gone by 8pm.

Video games are usually weekends only since too mich screen time is unhealthy. Maybe four hours a day.

Other activities for evenings could be walks, exercise of some form, hobbies, self-care (facials, mani/pedi), diet/meal prep, volunteering, picking up trash, etc..

Before I got married, I lived the life of a musician. I might be up until 4:00 AM, and might not get up until 9 or 10. I found the dark hours of the morning to be most inspiring when it came to writing.
