Don’t know why they’d be in my house – but I have a whole boxful in my car.

No !

We have reusable cloth masks my wife made last year, we microwave them when we get home. Wet paper towel sandwich for one minute

No. I bought six cloth ones (size 2XL to get around my beard) and I wash them regularly.

No, dirty masks stay outside in the garage until they are washed (cloth). I have one paper mask I re-use for short uses that stays in my car (I only leave the house once a week or less).

No. I only have a few “disposable” and they are KN95 and we just have two out, one for my husband and one for me, and a few more in the bag they came in.

I do have a lot of cloth masks in my laundry room both clean and waiting to be cleaned. The clean ones are hanging above the sink. I have one cloth one laying on my kitchen counter that I will wear again before washing.

I also have a few shields laying on a table top.

No, I throw them in the garbage.

I have stuff strewn around my home, but not used masks. I throw them away after ripping off the ear ties. (so animals don’t get caught up in them)

No! The disposal ones are only meant to be worn once, so I put them in the trash as soon as I have worn it. I have several cloth masks and filters that I wear over the outside of the disposable mask, and those items get washed every single time they are worn.

There is just one reusable mask which I will use again.

@RedDeerGuy1 Why would you not throw out disposable masks? If you leave them lying around. you’ve brought the virus in with you.

I have cloth masks which I throw in the washing machine after each wearing.

@janbb When coming home I take a detour to the bathroom and toss my mask anywhere it lands. Sometimes I only wore a mask for a short time and want to get the full use of the mask. I just bought a pack of 50 disposable masks for $13. So I’m cool with chucking out used masks.

@RedDeerGuy1 No disposable masks “strewn” around my home. When it became apparent that we’d need to use masks for a long time, I bought 20 cotton masks which I wear one time and wash. The “used” masks are in separate mesh bag in utility room. I keep a bag of clean masks in my car and in my home. *Mesh bag simply to keep the small masks together.

Of course not.

@RedDeerGuy1 The “full use” of a disposable mask is “one and done”. You don’t want to reuse them even if you only had them on for a minute. Unless you were wearing them without any people around.

I reuse my disposable masks (whether or not you’re supposed to is another issue) but if they get ratty, I always cut the loops before I throw them out. They will end up around the necks or beaks of birds or sea animals so I always cut them. I have cloth ones but I usually don’t prefer them.

I reuse them too. Good idea about cutting the loops.
