What items do you use even though they are broken?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24468points) July 4th, 2021

Like a cracked phone or glasses?

Is it cheap or thrifty, not to replace?

Humor welcome.

We have a little blue wagon in the yard that we use to take the two year old on walks down the street. My two older grand sons took the wheel off trying to “repair” it, but only messed it up more..but it still balances so we keep it around. He has a birthday in Sept. anyhow, I’ll buy him a new one then. For now he just has to make do.

My husband should answer this. He has broken reading glasses he keeps gluing or taping, I don’t even remember. $20 readers and he won’t let me just buy him a new pair! It’s ridiculous. He’s being cheap.

Do clothes count? He has undershirts and underwear with holes. Usually, my parents buy him that stuff for Chanukah, but you know COVID plus two years ago we just never made it shopping when they came to visit, and so it’s two years now we haven’t done holiday shopping with them. I told my husband we should go shopping and he won’t. It’s being cheap and also I think the old garments are comfortable.

I really need new pajamas, so I guess I’m guilty too.

I bought two large coffee mugs at Walmart a few summers ago, and upon taking them out of the trunk of the car, they both spilled out of the bag, hit the concrete, the handles broke off and they rolled into the bushes.

I just said, “WTF?” and took them on inside and still use them, without the handles—but not for hot beverages.

I forgot to mention the pretty ringing sound those mugs made when rolling across the concrete. The pretty ringing was well worth the handles getting broken,

My headphones T-T.
Now I hear Lully, Händel, Lesueur, Rondó Veneziano, etc.
just with the left ear, on occasions a tad muffled too.
Never coil the cables of your headphones/earphones,
& refrain from using them in bed…
or get some bluetooth ones (although I haven’t had any experiences with them).
Also, a couple teeth covered by prosthetic capsules (apologies to those who deem the topic as sensitive)
...
I’m kinda surprised a fellow user has use for mosquitoes, do you like…
make an hecatomb of them, then use ‘em to fertilize a potted plant, or somethiŋ?

Morning.

Morning has broken at daybreak, the crack of dawn. And I still manage to get up, out of bed or off the sofa. Unless my heart is broken, too.

But if your heart really breaks, as mine ceased to function a couple of weeks ago, you might not get up at all. Heart health is more important than you think. I had no idea I even had a problem and was consuming junk food, ice cream, and soft drinks with wild abandon because I thought my blood sugar was controlled by insulin. But my arteries and heart took a hit. My advice is, no matter how healthy you are, or think you are, don’t allow anything that is of your body,or spirit, to get broken.
