Jeopardy watchers: Why are they dragging out these champion tournaments so long?

I am finding all these quarter-finals and semi-finals and finals a tad boring. It seems to be going on forever. (Although I did find the Masters’ Tournament riveting.) I’ve heard it has something to do with the writers strike but I don’t understand how. They still need to come up with new questions to ask, don’t they?

Agreed. Should be renamed Jeopardy – Chopped Edition
Or is it Chopped – Jeopardy Edition
