Yes. If you are caught stealing copyrighted material, like music and movies, there are now more strict and severe punishments, including but not limited to seizure of the media onto which it was illegally downloaded (ie, your computer).

Here’s a hint: STOP STEALING. Fork out the cash to buy your music and movies. It’s not free, never has been, and was never intended to be.

As a software engineer, people stealing copyrighted work, be it software, music, or movies, REALLY pisses me off.

Then what do you think of p2p sharing

can you provide a link to this act or informatoin about it?

afghanmoose, what do you mean what do I think of it? I think I made my feelings pretty clear. If you are using a p2p network to steal music, movies, software, etc, you are a criminal and I hope like hell you’re prosecuted. If you’re using it to share public domain works, knock yourself out.

Seriously… I pay $14 a month and I can download anything I want. It’s not that bad.
