Is there any way to speed up Compressor on a Mac?

Asked by tf666 (11points) October 28th, 2008

Compressor runs really slow on my work computer. I have a PowerPC G5 2.5 GHz with 3 GB of ram. I am running OS X 10.5.5

I think you mean the processor. And well there isn’t much you can do about that. It’s a G5, and I believe it belongs to your employer. So forget about upgrading. I think the core of the problem is some sort of software malfunction or restriction brewed up by your IT crew. You could ask for a clean install and/or a better graphics configuration.

Is compressor a program? If so, is it recently running slowly or has it always run slowly? It could be your computer is just a little too slow for a speedy completion. What kind of Mac is it (iMac or PowerMac)? A little more information would be helpful.
