What exactly is Verizon fios?

How does it differ from cable, etc?

Verizon FIOS is the first major fiber-to-the-home service to be offered to consumers in the US. It offers significantly more bandwidth than cable or DSL, currently up to 50 megabits per second.

basically, it’s an internet connection that uses light to transfer information.

FiOS is a combination of the words “Fiber”, “Optic” and “Service.” It is a service that offers Internet, telephone, and TV, in a variety of combinations, and it’s only being offered in some areas of the United States by the telecom company Verizon.
