An exercise or stetching CD?

Asked by finkelitis (1907points) September 5th, 2007

I had the bright idea of waking up to a CD (not video) recording that would tell me what stretches to do and for how long. The world seems rife with DVDs and videos, but are there any good CDs out there? And which ones are best?

Ideally, I’d like one that features stretches, reminds you about breathing, and maybe involves some pushups or situps. I’m open to yoga CDs, but they’re not my preference.

Dan, Jon Kabat-Zinn has a series of excellent guided meditation, body scans, silent meditation and yoga stretches, not exactly what you are looking for but ones I have used for years. All the stretches are done slowly, incorporate breathing and let you remain lying down so if yr bed is hard, you wouldn’t have to get up. You could include pushups and situps during the routines if you felt like it. I use the tapes (easier to rewind if I fall asleep) but there are CDs also..
