Any easy ways to learn computers?

Asked by Jassy (4points) December 19th, 2008

My grandpa wants to learn computer and Internet. Because of my job I do not get enough time to teach him. He doesn’t want to go out and take classes. Any other easy ways?

I always see commercials for Video Professor that seem to mostly be aimed at older people.

Honestly, if he’s cool with it…go to the library and pull out a bunch of books that teach kids about the internet. That’s how my mom did it. She had ignored it for so long it was like jumping into the middle of the Atlantic with one floaty. So, she went super backward and it worked for her. It’s simple, usually large letters which help children and seniors, gives good safety and common sense on the internet tips like not sharing passwords, making sure sites are legit, etc.

Should work. :)

Really second queenzboulevard- computers have become so user friendly, you needn’t worry about anything going wrong. He’ll catch up in no time! Thats how I got used to it.

With internet its even easier. You could initially just ask him to search for few things he may find interesting-like his fave author etc, by typing in the words and hitting enter. That should start him up.maybe you Call him up in between and find out hows he doing.
For basics mention to him about MS Office and simple things like Word and Excel
